EIGCA pays tribute to Martin Hawtree on his retirement
EIGCA marks the retirement of Martin Hawtree FEIGCA, recognising a career that has spanned more than five decades and a family legacy in golf course architecture extending back over a century.
The second workshop of the EIGCA Vocational Qualification in Golf Course Design (EVQGCD) is underway in Ayrshire, Scotland. Our 10 students have three days of lectures and site visits with EIGCA members ahead of them ... with a sprinkling of golf on amazing courses in the areas.
Peer learning and meeting experienced golf course architects are just as important as the academic and technical parts of this qualification.
Studies start for 11 budding golf course architects
The next cohort of budding golf course architects began their training as golf course architects at Celtic Manor. Eleven students from seven countries attended the first of five workshops over the 2-year education programme.
