I feel incredibly proud and deeply honoured to have been elected President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA). It is a privilege to serve an organisation that represents the highest standards in golf course design and champions the future of our profession. I’m grateful to the Members for their trust, and to all those who have inspired and supported me throughout my career.
During my term as President, I will continue to promote responsible and inclusive golf course design, ensuring that our work remains relevant, accessible, and forward-thinking.
The key themes of my presidency will focus on:
Education and Professional Development
I am committed to strengthening our education and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes to support both emerging talent and experienced Members in their ongoing growth.
Leadership in Environmental Responsibility
Sustainable and environmentally responsible design must remain at the heart of what we do. I will continue to position the EIGCA as a leader in this essential area.
Strengthen Relationships within the industry
I will build on the strong foundations laid by my immediate predecessors, Caspar Grauballe and Tim Lobb, working to deepen our relationships with our sister organisations, as well as other golf bodies and stakeholders. Together, we will promote best practices and ensure the EIGCA is part of the key conversations shaping the future of the game.
Diversity and Inclusion
A more inclusive game and profession benefits everyone. I will continue to encourage inclusive design approaches and promote broader participation across the industry.
Finally, I would like to thank Caspar for his extraordinary dedication over the past two years and for everything he was able to achieve during his term as President. I’m also delighted to welcome Paul Kimber as Vice President, and I look forward to working alongside him as we continue to take the EIGCA forward.
