The Outstanding Contribution Award

This award recognises an individual or company within the EIGCA community for their significant contribution to furthering the work of the Institute and golf course design profession.

EIGCA’s Harry Colt Award (first presented in 2010) recognises exemplary service to the development of golf or promotion of the game of golf and its development by an organisation or individual external to the Institute. The EIGCA Council felt it important that significant contributions made by an individual or organisation within the EIGCA community were also honoured.

The Outstanding Contribution Award was born in 2023.

At the President’s Dinner held during the EIGCA Annual Meeting in Utrecht, Netherlands, on 23 April 2026, EIGCA President, Gary Johnston MEIGCA, presented the Institute’s Outstanding Contribution Award.

The Award recognises individuals whose dedication, commitment and service have made a significant impact on EIGCA and the profession of golf course architecture. In announcing the 2026 recipient, Gary reflected on the importance of education to the future of the profession and the contribution made by this year’s award winner, Niall Glen MEIGCA.
