It’s all change at EIGCA – new President and Vice President elected

At EIGCA’s Annual General Meeting, 23rd April 2025, Gary Johnston was elected as President and Paul Kimber as Vice President.

Gary Johnston was first elected to the EIGCA Council in 2011, retiring in 2014. He was re-elected in 2017 and has served ever since – including two re-elections in 2021 and 2024 in line with EIGCA’s Articles of Association and the rules for Council rotation. He was elected President at the 2025 AGM, after being Vice President since 2023.

Paul Kimber was first elected to EIGCA’s Council in 2019 and has served ever since, with one re-election during this time in 2023, in line with EIGCA’s Articles of Association. He was elected Vice President at the 2025 AGM and will support Gary Johnston’s Presidency.

Gary and Paul will commence these roles at the EIGCA President’s Dinner during our Annual Meeting, on Friday 16th May.

As per the Institute’s Articles of Association, the longest serving member/s of Council must resign and are eligible to stand for re-election. With Caspar Grauballe resigning after 10 years on Council, at the end of his Presidency (2023-2025), there were two vacancies on Council. These were filled at the AGM by Kari Haug’s re-election and Stephen Ridgway‘s election to Council for the first time. Both were elected unnopposed.
