Mr Leopoldo Espinosa

Leopoldo Espinosa has more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry working in golf course designs, projects, construction and maintenance at Garden & Golf and Espinosa Golf Design.

He has a Master’s Degree in Agronomist Engineering with a specialisation in Economics from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain and General Management Program from IESE Business School. He began in the golf industry working in 1999 at Garden & Golf, an international company specialised in construction and maintenance of golf courses.

He is been involved in golf course design since 2000, when he started working at Espinosa Golf Design together with his father Ramón Espinosa, one of the most respected Spanish Golf Course Architects and EIGCA past Member. From Ramón Espinosa, he learned much of his current knowledge about golf course designs, but also, in Garden & Golf he had the chance to work and keep learning different design styles from other renowned golf course architects like Jack Nicklaus, Kyle Phillips, Dave Thomas and Seve Ballesteros.

During all these years, Leopoldo has been acquiring his own golf course design philosophy, always keeping in mind the respect to the environment and sustainable golf courses development.
