Jeff has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Geography and a Diploma in Turf Grass Management and has over 40 years of golf course experience. It is this experience as an assistant superintendant, shaper and designer with five different architects before setting up Jeff Howes Golf Design that makes his courses unique and sustainable. Jeff’s services include all aspects of golf course architecture from consultancy, initial site analysis, planning and construction supervision of new courses and redesigns.
Examples of Jeff Howes Golf Design’s work are:
- The Heritage G&CC (co-designed with Seve Ballesteros), Ireland, which held the Seve Trophy in September 2007
- Golf Club Adamstal in Austria has hosted a Challenge Tour event on nine occasions, 2006-2008 and 2018 to this year 2023
- The exclusive resort at Fota Island, Ireland, where Jeff redesigned the original 18 holes, which hosted the Irish Open in 2001, 2002 and 2014. Fota is now a 27 hole facility thanks to Jeff’s third nine design
- Jeff Howes Golf Design was also involved in the restoration and upgrading of Mount Juliet’s (Ireland) greens in preparation of the American Express World Golf Championship 2002 and 2004
