Golfgraffix completes first AI-enhanced CGI course visualisation

Golfgraffix has completed its first golf-course visualisation project using custom-built AI enhancement tools integrated into its in-house CGI software pipeline.
The project, developed in collaboration with EIGCA member Stuart Rennie of Pangaea Golf Architecture, presents a proposed redesign of Darley Links, Troon. The imagery and video are entirely CGI (with the exception of the clubhouse), enhanced using Golfgraffix’s own custom-trained AI models to improve realism, texture detail, and lighting consistency—without altering the underlying course design geometry.
While AI introduces new challenges, including artefact control and hallucination, the workflow has significantly reduced production time while delivering the most photorealistic output Golfgraffix has produced to date.
The work represents an evolution of long-established digital course-modelling techniques rather than a replacement for them, with AI used as a controlled enhancement layer within an architect-led design process.
