Mr Stuart Rennie

Admitted as an Associate Member (AEIGCA) in 2012; upgraded to Member (MEIGCA) in 2019.

2007-09 Graduate with Distinction – Diploma in Golf Course Design

Stuart is a practising Scottish Golf Course Architect and Landscape Architect residing in Glasgow in the West of Scotland. He has an MA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture from Edinburgh College of Art and also gained the Post Graduate Diploma in Golf Course Architecture through the European Institute of Golf Course Architects, which he passed with Distinction as well as being awarded the Toro sponsored Student Golf Architect Design Award for 2009.

He has a wealth of professional practice experience and has worked in full time employment as a Landscape Architect for two of Scotland’s leading multi-disciplinary practices, URS and Keppie Design. Stuart has worked in the golf and landscape industry for nearly 20 years and has run his own specialist golf design practice Rennie Design Ltd for over 12 years. He also worked for Thomson Perrett Golf Course Architects in Australia on projects throughout Australia and China; and for TPL now Lobb + Partners for some 6 years in London on a consultancy basis.

Stuart has joined forces with Jeffrey Danner in California to create PANGAEA Golf Architecture, an exciting global golf design practice with a simple but yet profound philosophy: ‘One world – better together’ www.pangaeagolf.com

Project experience has seen Stuart work on a wide variety of projects such as, large-scale environmental impact assessments projects, public realm, masterplanning and landscape and visual assessment. In recent years he completed the new Kings Golf Course Inverness, construction project managed the ‘Golf it’ R&A facility in Glasgow and delivered numerous Masterplan and renovation design and build projects. Stuart has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the design, specification and supervision of golf construction projects and has a strong interest in the relationship between golf and the environment. He is a sustainability support advisor for golf’s leading eco-label, the Golf Environmental Organisation On-course programme.

Stuart has a young family, an interest in football and holds memberships at Royal Dornoch and at Royal Troon where he maintains a single figure handicap.
