The international firm of construction of golf courses Garden & Golf reaches its goals for 2012 by finishing its last three construction works:
- Royal Obidos: A new 18-hole Golf Course in Portugal.
- Golf Municipal de Llanes: Remodeling of 9 holes in a Golf Course in Spain.
- Golf d’Opio – Valbonne: First phase of the remodeling of a 18-hole Golf Course in France.
Mr. Luis Espinosa and Mr. Leopoldo Espinosa keep the philosophy of the society founded by their father, the international Golf Course Architect Mr. Ramón Espinosa. The professionalism and the expertise acquired over more than 45 years are reflected in the quality of the results obtained.
Royal Obidos
The Golf Course sited in Obidos, Portugal, occupies approximately 75 hectares in which the golfer will find a wonderful 18-hole course designed by Severiano Ballesteros, Driving range, Chipping green and Putting green. Its game provides a challenge for players of all levels.
In the construction process Garden & Golf has used the best available materials and the latest technologies. The result is a Golf Course of high quality, environmentally friendly.
This wonderful 18-hole golf course opened its doors officially in March 2012 and is a reference in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the leading fields for golf amateurs.
Golf Municipal de Llanes
The renovation works of the Golf Municipal of Llanes represent a great leap in the quality of this golf course. Garden & Golf has built new greens, tees and bunkers. The new course of the last 9 holes is spectacular and unique in Spain.
After this remodeling the Golf Municipal of Llanes can make professional championships.
The changes have required very hard work of coordination and an extra effort to keep the golf course open to players while remodeling. The international firm Garden & Golf, specialized in golf course construction, has faced the added difficulties as continuous rain and heavy clay soil. These difficulties has forced Garden & Golf to coordinate the works creating temporary greens and tees and taking care of the player safety as well as the workers safety at all times.
The Real Federación Española de Golf has trusted Garden & Golf to develop this remodeling and has expressed their congratulations to the company Garden & Golf for their excellent work.
Golf d’Opio – Valbonne: First Phase
The complete remodeling of the 18-hole golf course of the Golf d’Opio Valbonne includes modifications of the golf course with earthworks, shaping, drainage, irrigation and seeding in a total area of 700,000 m2. Garden & Golf has successfully finished the first phase and will begin the second phase in autumn 2012.
With this remodeling, conducted by Garden & Golf, is possible to improve substantially the game and especially has taken a big step in improving irrigation. The golf course has now one of the best irrigation systems in the market that means a better water control and a lower consumption of water and energy.
Awarded The Gold Medal To The President Of Garden & Golf
The Official Association of Agriculture Engineers (Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Agrónomos) award the Gold Medal of the Association to Dr. Ramon Espinosa, President of Garden & Golf.
The Official Association of Agriculture Engineers, sometimes with the cooperation and support of other agencies and organizations, promotes the stimulus to the quality of professionals through the call for Prizes and the awarding of several Distinctions, as is the case went to Dr. Ramon Espinosa.
Dr. Ramon Espinosa has contributed significantly to the development of golf in Spain, being one of the pioneers of this sport, providing wonderful Golf Courses designs throughout Spain as well as constructing new golf courses in collaboration with some of the best international golf course architects.
His passion and knowledge of the construction, maintenance and reforms of golf courses have made his company Garden & Golf an international reference, always working with the highest quality.
The award has been publicly presented by the Doyenne Mrs. M ª Cruz Díaz Álvarez in the presence of the Agriculture Minister in the ceremony commemorating the patron of Agricultural Engineers, San Isidro.
