The Golf Trust 2024 Disabled Open (The Shire London) 29th July

EIGCA members are invited to attend The Golf Trust 2024 Disabled Open which will be hosted at the Shire London on 29th July.

EIGCA members are encouraged to attend to see first-hand how disabled golfers navigate golf facilities and grounds:

• Physical access – consider ingress and egress for mobility challenged players and spectators to:  Bunkers, tees, greens, bathrooms, clubhouse, parking, viewing areas.
• Disabled persons, seniors, children, pregnant women have an increased need over young and middle-aged men for access to private restrooms. Consider access to these facilities while on the golf course.
• Sensory impairments – consider how blind or deaf golfers, or those with balance problems are experiencing the golf course and facilities.
• Cognitively or neurologically impaired persons – consider how persons with slowed movements, speech, wayfinding, or mental processing disabilities function on the golf course or in the clubhouse or practice facilities.   
• Mental Health – consider how persons with PTSD, autism, depression, or anxiety might respond to the sights and sounds on the golf course in both negative and positive ways.
