New Executive Officer takes the helm at EIGCA

Lindsey Collumbell, EIGCA Executive OfficerLindsey took on the Executive Officer position on 1st July 2022, following seven years as the Institute’s PR and Marketing Consultant. Speaking about her new role, Lindsey says: “It is an honour to be appointed as Executive Officer and to continue my involvement with EIGCA. I want to ensure the Institute and its members are highly regarded in the world of golf and am making collaboration with the wider golf industry a priority. Golf course architects are key players in the successful future of golf and an important element of my new role will be to strengthen relationships with other organisations and explore how we can work together for mutual benefit.

“I relish the opportunity to build on the strong foundations laid by Julia since the Institute began in 2000. I look forward to leading EIGCA with enthusiasm, excitement and a determination to deliver an Institute that the members and partners deserve and are proud to be a part of.”

After seven years as our PR and Marketing Consultant, Lindsey knows the Institute and EIGCA community well. She has considerable experience of the membership sector and will take us to the next level of our development and professional representation.

“Whilst we are excited about Lindsey starting in this role, we are sad to lose Julia, who was with EIGCA since its inception in 2000. On behalf of EIGCA’s members and partners, I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Julia on a wonderful career leading the EIGCA. Without her, the Institute would not be where it is today. We are eternally grateful for her passion, intelligence and hard work for the past 22 years.”

About Lindsey Collumbell

After starting her career in the aerospace industry, Lindsey Collumbell launched a specialist communications and membership engagement consultancy, Bojangle Communications Ltd, in 2004. With over 30 years’ experience working for membership organisations and companies from sole traders to the second largest aerospace manufacturer in the world, Lindsey’s experience includes governance, strategic and tactical roles.

As an advocate for how professional membership organisations make members a better version of their work self, Lindsey believes in the power of lifelong learning. She is a member of three professional bodies – the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a Fellow of all three. She is proud to be a Chartered PR Practitioner and Chartered Marketer.

Lindsey was a Board member at CIPR for four years, a Council Member for six, Chair of the Professional Development and Membership Committee (PDMC) for four, and a member of the Professional Practices Committee for one year. She is also an assessor on the Chartered PR Practitioner programme, determining future Chartered members of the PR profession. As Chair of PDMC, Lindsey was responsible for leading and supervising the work programme relating to qualifications, training and membership – a key role in ensuring members are ‘fit-for-purpose’ and that the CIPR met the needs of its membership. Lindsey’s achievements were recognised by the award of the CIPR Sir Stephen Tallents medal in 2017 which cited her contribution to professionalism in public relations and for mentoring and encouraging others to develop in their careers.
