Marco Croze was a member of EIGCA until he retired in 2016.
Born in Venice in 1940, Marco graduated from the University of Venice with a degree in architecture in 1965. He began his career in golf course design by collaborating with the English architect John D. Harris from 1967 until Harris’s passing.
Together with Harris, Marco worked on golf course projects and construction at Albarella (Venice), Le Fronde (Turin), and Udine.
Throughout his career, Marco also collaborated with Pete Dye at Franciacorta and European Golf Design on the construction of Asolo Golf at the initiative of the Benetton family.
Marco has designed various golf courses across almost all regions of Italy and in Slovenia.
He considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to integrate his courses into important historic parks such as Frassanelle (Padua), Castel d’Aviano (Pordenone), and Ca’ Amata (Castelfranco).
Additionally, Marco has revamped some of Italy’s most prestigious courses, preparing them for numerous competitions.
In his later years, Marco focused on several projects including Jesolo (Venice), Metaponto (Matera), Naples, Fiera di Primiero (Trento), Ljubljana, and Portorož in Slovenia.
