Gerard Jol was a member of EIGCA until he retired in 2019.

Gerard Jol was born in 1942 and trained first in Landscape Architecture then in Golf Course Architecture in England.  He operates Jol Golf Design, specializing in golf courses that harmoniously blend with nature and landscape to provide optimal enjoyment for both novice and experienced golfers.

His wide experience in developing recreational areas resulted in his involvement, from inception, in the development of Spaarnwoude, near the city of Haarlem, the largest golf course in Western Europe.

To date, Gerard Jol has completed thirty 18-hole courses, along with fourteen smaller ones, and has twenty projects in various stages of development, including three in other European countries. A significant aspect of his work involves analyzing (Quick Scan) and improving (reconstruction) existing golf courses.
