Christoph Städler, born 1951, is a former German Amateur Champion and played at many European and World Team Championships and international matches. In 1987 he founded his own golf course design firm.

Städler Golf Courses have so far implemented more than 50 new courses and renovated or redesigned more than 110 existing courses. Highlights: Baltic Sea Golf Resort Wittenbeck, Mainzer Golfclub, Golf Club Föhr, University Golfclub Paderborn, Golf Resort Semlin am See, GolfResort Weimarer Land, Frankfurter Golf Club, Rosendaelsche Golfclub - Netherlands, Golf-Club Bergisch Land -Wuppertal, Club zur Vahr - Bremen Garlstedter Heide, Golfclub Essen-Heidhausen.

Städler & Decker are currently working on more than 30 golf projects in Europe.

Städler`s prevailing aim is to blend the golf holes perfectly into the landscape and to raise the ecological value of the site by creating lakes, wetland areas and other biotop features. His ambitious designs are challenging even the best players, yet offering a fair alternate route for the weaker players, thus making a round of golf enjoyable for everyone.

In November 2017, Christoph became the second member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects to qualify for the EIGCA's Sustainability Register. Inclusion on this register is for members who have completed the EIGCA's Raising the Standard of Sustainable Golf Course Development programme (RSSGCD) and demonstrated an industry-leading expertise and experience in sustainable golf course design. He is now a certified "Sustainable Design Leader".
