NoNet’s increased rhizomes and spreading ability enables quick establishment and ability to repair damaged turf on areas with traffic such as sports fields and NoNet has not sacrificed turf quality or disease resistance for knitting ability. NoNet tall fescue is aimed at eliminating the costly nylon netting used in commercial sod production of bunch-type tall fescue. NoNet can be used for bunker faces, along cart paths, walkways or concentrated traffic areas.
Netting is a hassle for the sod producer to purchase and install and it is also a hazard for golfers or sports fields where player’s cleats can catch on the net for years to come. Varieties currently available in Europe are FLAME and SUNLIGHT. Sunlight has a finer leaf texture so will blend better with Perennial Ryegrass. Flame’s texture is similar to that of Poa pratensis.
