Over a two-day period you will be exposed to new thoughts and advances to take back to the office and apply to current and future projects. This CPD seminar is split into two distinct parts:

Architecture (afternoon only)

  • Bunker Liners – hear from a course manager about trials he conducted on different liners to help him choose which type to use
  • Two Industry Partners, John Greasley and Capillary Concrete, tell us about their products and how they are installed

Digital Tools (full day)

  • Social Media – how to use it effectively to promote you / your practice
  • Software – 3D visualisation
  • Digital Tracking – insight on how courses are played

The event is being held on 29th/30th November 2016 at the Sofitel, Gatwick Airport, just a short walk from the North Terminal building. The cost covers the seminars, workshops, lunch on both days, dinner, accommodation on the middle night including breakfast:

  • Members = GBP 185.00
  • Students = GBP 170.00

This material is changing the way we build golf courses.
Capillary Concrete combines gravitational drainage with capillary water movement, in one single material. This offers exciting possibilities for building soil profiles to save water and improve quality of grass surface. Imagine having the draining properties of a coarse, sandy soil combined with subsurface irrigation, and you have Capillary Concrete.
Initial testing suggests up to 85% water savings on tees and the ability to keep natural environments outside the actual tee area.
In bunkers, moisture control is the way to make a sand perform the intended way. Capillary Concrete removes excess moisture and replenish in dry conditions to always have a sand in moisture balance that plays the same regardless of weather.

08.30 Social Media – Getting to grips with social media
Social media is here to stay, but is it right for you and your business?
During this session, EIGCA’s Public Relations Consultant, Lindsey Collumbell, will explain the different social media platforms and advise on which are the most effective for golf course architects, show you how to manage your social media activity, give ideas of what to say and how to measure results.
By the end of the session you will know what social media to invest your time in, what to say, how to say it and determine if you are being heard. Lindsey has lots of tricks up her sleeve to maximise your time on social media.

This hands-on clinic will help those new to social media get used to the platforms or improve the skills of those more experienced.
Please bring a laptop / tablet with you to get the most benefit from this session as Lindsey will give you one-to-one assistance and answer any challenges you have experienced.

An interactive session with the new 3D software that Golfgraffix has launched. Remember a laptop!
