Golf's cultural shift: a global perspective webinar – 23rd September 2020

| News

Estimated reading time 2 min

Hosted and facilitated by EIGCA’s Equality Advisor, Kari Haug AEIGCA, the four-person panel will discuss how we can create a cultural shift in golf to increase female inclusivity in the golf industry.

Fewer than 2% of golf course architects are believed to be female, with a similar percentage reflected across other areas of the sport, including golf course owners, superintendents and PGA club professionals. The panel will discuss what can be done to instil new ways for people to think and behave in relation to encouraging more women into golf.

The panel draws a breadth of perspectives and expertise from the USA and UK, including:

Alex Armas, CEO, Ladies European Tour

Shelly Boyum-Breen, an author and the founder of Let Me Play Grants

Dr Nicole LaVoi, Director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport, University of Minnesota, plus

Ken Moodie MEIGCA, Creative Golf Design

Join us on this webinar to understand the important role which male advocates, mentors and allies have in creating a cultural change as we discuss the three Whats:

+What does a cultural shift look like?
+What are the barriers we face?
+What do we need to do?
