EIGCA supports #SustainableGolfWeek

11-15 November 2024 – This year’s Sustainable Golf Week again provides a chance for people and organisations across the sport to celebrate the good that golf does in society. Led by EIGCA Patron GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation, the week spotlights another key aspect of golf’s responsibility and its value in sustainable development, focusing on how golf serves, supports and strengthens communities.  

“As golf course architects we have a responsibility to consider every possible impact that golf courses will have when we are designing them and that includes the local community.

Golf can play a big part in the community, and it is important that we acknowledge that when designing a new golf course or we redevelop an existing one – we are designing a part of the local community.

Golf can deliver so many new and exciting prospects for communities whether that be a place to be closer to nature, education programs or even just an area to meet friends, the contribution of golf to community is sometimes overlooked.
