EIGCA Student Success!

After two years study, assignments, and essays together with on the job training the following results were achieved: –

• Jakub Cervenka Distinction (Mentor – David Krause)
• David Minogue Merit (Mentor – Jeff Lynch)
• Neil White Distinction (Mentor – Simon Gidman)
• Gareth Williams Distinction (Mentor – Guy Hockley)

Alan Walker, Chairman of the EIGCA Education Board commented, ‘Our four students have made great progress over the duration of the course which has resulted in three ‘Distinctions’ and a ‘Merit’ pass for Stage 1 of the EVQ. It was particularly pleasing to receive a number of positive comments from members regarding the high standard shown by all four students. I’d like to thank the Mentors for playing such a positive role in the students’ progression through Stage 1 of the course’.

In order for the students to progress towards Associate membership of the EIGCA they now need to gain actual work experience and present their own projects to fulfil Part 2 of the qualification.

Applications for the next intake of students for the EIGCA Vocational Qualification are now open allowing potential students the time to complete their application and secure either work based employment with an EIGCA member or an attachment to a practice via our Student Attachment Program (SAP).

Alan Walker said, ‘We are committed to producing highly skilled golf course student architects and our SAP program has proved very successful in achieving that goal. I would also like to thank members of the Education Committee (Ken Moodie & Christian Lundin) for their time and commitment plus EIGCA members who have marked and critiqued the students work. Without all of their support these outstanding results would not have been achieved’.
