EIGCA Bronze Partner, Capillary Bunkers, and Member, James Edwards work together at Deeside Golf Club

Photo supplied by Neil McLoughlin of Deeside Golf ClubNeil McLoughlin, Golf Course Manager at Deeside Golf Club, contacted Capillary Bunkers some time back about undertaking a trial of the Capillary Bunker liner to prevent a number of issues they had been struggling with for sometime, one was to maintain the shape, design and integrity of the existing bunkers and then also prevent washouts, eliminate stone debris and maintain consistent moisture levels etc in all of their bunkers.

So the club undertook some trials and they proved extremely successful and the members and management were very happy with what they found after some of the extreme floods that took place so they decided to move forward with a multi-year project to install Capillary Bunker liner in all of the bunkers.

Photo supplied by Neil Thompson of Border SportsWhilst they were doing this they also decided to employ the experienced EIGCA member, James Edwards of EDI Golf Ltd to help move the club to the next level and help them with design aspects and also to assess how best to manage and adapt areas of play when the course is flooded again by the excessive water through the River Dee and the photo below shows some damage received recently by recent flooding and then the next photo shows one of the newly renovated bunkers built and lined with the clubs own Green-staff team led by Course Manager Neil McLoughlin and supplied and supported by Neil Thompson of Border Sports the UK distributor for Capillary Bunkers.
