The first round will be played at Oitavos Dunes http://www.oitavosdunes.com one of Portugal’s finest golf courses. Designed by Arthur Hills the course is ranked 68 in Golf Magazines Top 100 Courses in the World and 20 in Golf World’s Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe.

Estoril Golf ClubEstoril Golf Club www.clubegolfestoril.com will host the second round. Established in 1929 the course was redesigned in 1936 by Mackenzie Ross and was the venue for the Portuguese Open for many years. At only 5,800 yards it promises to deliver a very different challenge to Oitavos.

The theme for the conference is ‘Golf for All – Designs on the Future’ and will look at the way designers can contribute to making the game more enjoyable and accessible for everybody. In addition there will be discussions on ways to encourage more participation, particularly for juniors, ladies and for golfers with disabilities.

Palacio Estoril HotelAnnouncing the event EIGCA President Peter Fjallman said; “We are delighted to be returning to Portugal for our 2014 Conference and AGM. Having previously staged this event in the Algarve we are excited that next year we will be sampling the delights of the Lisbon region, and particularly Estoril/Cascais. It promises to be a fantastic event, with great golf, a wonderful hotel and some important topics to be addressed at our EIGCA Conference. I look forward to seeing all our members, Industry and Consultant Partners, Patrons and invited guests in April.”
