In August 2021, a 9-hole reconstruction began at Tyrifjord Golf Club on the Norwegian island of Storøya, divided into 3 major reconstruction parts, including the reconstruction of 9 greens, all bunkers, 3 tees and reconstruction of the irrigation system around the greens. The challenge was to provide the greens with more sunlight and improve air circulation, as well as ensuring better water management. Some greens have been relocated and some have been elevated and reshaped. The USGA method was used for their construction.
In accordance to the Investor’s wishes the following were used: Rain Bird irrigation, Fito seeds, turf grown in Poland in All Golf Services turf farm and their ProBunker Liner.
The project began on September 15, 2021 with the survey and measurement of the site by Waldemar and Lukasz Szadny together with the All Golf Services team and Ian Ross, head greenkeeper at Tyrifjord Golf Club. The vast majority of the work on the golf course went smoothly, which contributed to the work being ahead of schedule before the winter construction break.
The project was completed on time and budget in late July, allowing the new 9-holes to officially open on July 30, 2022.
Another project completed by EIGCA Silver Partner, All Golf Services, in Norway in the summer 2022 was the remodeling of green 16 at Oppegård Golf Club. The reconstruction of the green included remodeling of two bunkers in ProBunker Solutions* system and installing the Tour Pro Creeping bentgrass grown in Poland on their turf farm. (* ProBunker Solutions system of All Golf Services is a rubber bunker lining and an aesthetic and durable protection of bunker edges)
