On the stunning clifftops at Nefyn, North Wales, EcoTec has been installed alongside our EcoBunker revetting to deliver attractive and resilient links style bunkers. Nefyn, planning major upgrade works and advised by EIGCA member Steven Ridgway recognised that fully sealed bunkers with EcoBunker edges would be advisable in the beautiful, but exposed location.
Raymond Vaughan Jones, General Manager at Nefyn explained: ‘We have an incredible location for a golf course, but there is a downside: extreme wind and driving rain can sometimes make maintenance, particularly of the bunkers, very challenging. We carried out a lot of research before embarking on this major bunker restoration project, and by the evidence of this first phase I, along with the club Members, am delighted by the performance of the EcoBunker Ltd team and the bunkers they built for us’.
Meanwhile at Chislehurst GC, Dave Sampson MEIGCA, (EGD) designed a sensitive bunker restoration project on a historic parkland site. Conor Walsh EIGCA Bronze Partner, constructed the bunkers and installed the Ecotec liner with support from the EcoBunker team.
‘Bunker Liner technology has advanced rapidly over recent years, but we thought there was still a significant gap in the market’ said Richard Allen , CEO of EcoBunker Ltd. ‘By designing and producing something new, we now offer a seamless, free draining mid-price liner, which is resilient with high sand holding capacity and forgiveness. The fast and simple installation makes it attractive for self-build and contractor led projects, and we’ve had a great response from Nefyn, Chislehurst, Woodhall Spa, Bromborough, The Army and several other clubs.’
