The Tree Dilemma – carbon sequestration on golf courses

This is the first in a series of articles we will publish this year focusing on environmental sustainability. EIGCA Sustainability Advisor, Keith Duff, takes this opportunity to reflect on the often controversial issue of woodland management on golf courses, and concludes that it’s not just trees that capture and store carbon. Areas of heathland, wetland and grassland, which make up a large percentage of the area of many golf courses, also play a key role.
