More Golf – Scotland’s Game, by David Hamilton. Published by The Partick Press, 1998. I have at last obtained a reasonably priced copy of this much sought-after book. It traces the origins of golf from a Scottish Sunday churchyard sport to its emergence in the modern form. The book concludes that it was in Scotland alone that the modern game appeared. More Spon's External Works and Landscape Price Book 2011 I have obtained a newer edition of this book - our last one was from 2006. While not entirely up-to-date it does proved a useful guide to costings. More James Braid and his four hundred golf courses By John F Moreton and Iain Cumming. Published by Grant Books, 2013. Braid's first recorded golf course design is recorded as 1897. Soon his talent as a golf architect became known and he was in ever increasing demand throughout the country and abroad until his death in 1950. More What's in the news?
