Success in international competition

Christoph Städler's MEIGCA design firm won the competition for the upgrading of the renowned 18-hole course of the Golfclub Breitenloo near Zurich.

The Breitenloo golf course has an extraordinarily high-class appearance, starting with the imposing clubhouse and the other infrastructure and ending with the golf course, which was presented in an immaculately maintained condition.

The golf course is characterised by an old, striking, diverse stock of trees, which form a very impressive scenery and the course of a classic parkland golf course. The slightly hilly topography, which is used in an ideal way with the cleverly chosen locations for the greens and teas while avoiding blind shots as far as possible, increases the joy of playing and the enjoyment of the attractive landscape conditions.

Within the framework of an international competition, the bunkers were submitted to a strengths analysis and proposals for renovation and optimisation presented. In addition, the golf course should be considered to be "good enough". We won this competition in 2019.
