Day 1 was spent at Österåker GK. After a presentation by the club, delegates played the course which had been designed by Christian Lundin and Henrik Stenson, and constructed by EIGCA Bronze Partner, Sol Golf, with irrigation by another Bronze Partner, Hunter Industries.
On Day 2, we moved across to Djursholms GK, a course which reopened in 2021 following a complete rejuvenation of the greens and bunkers by Caspar Grauballe. Delegates played the course, which had been constructed by Bronze Partner Nelson & Vecchio, with irrigation by Gold Partner, Rain Bird, and heard presentations by the club and Rain Bird. After lunch, Christian hosted a walk around Stockholms GK, where he is in the middle of a restoration project.
After a busy two days, Christian sums up the time as: “a great showcase of the diversity between modern-built members’ clubs and the old classic courses revitalized to former glory”.
Thank you to the courses who welcomed us and provided excellent opportunities for our members to continue their learning of golf course design. We also thank our Partners who very kindly sponsored the meals (lunch and dinner at Österåker GK by Hunter Industries, and lunch at Djursholms GK by Rain Bird).
