Germany chosen for EIGCA’s first Regional CPD Golf Day

Providing opportunities for members and partners to meet face-to-face is a key component in the EIGCA offering.

With the pandemic preventing us holding our traditional Annual Meeting, Council’s solution is a series of Regional CPD & Golf Days.

In anticipation of the impact of international travel restrictions being lessened for regional events, several CPD & Golf Days are planned, with the first held on 1st October at GC Hösel in Dusseldorf, Germany. Changes in travel restrictions meant participants from England, Ireland and The Netherlands needed to cancel at the last minute, but 10 members and partners were still able to attend.

After a morning of presentations and discussions on the origins and development of the golf club and course at Hösel, a round of golf was played on the North Course, designed by EIGCA Past President, Simon Gidman MEIGCA. Rainer Preissmann MEIGCA, also an EIGCA Past President, undertook the planning process for the course which was the subject of one of the morning’s presentations.

EIGCA’s Council is keen to strengthen the working relationships and friendships between members and partners and plans to replicate this day in Spain and England, COVID travel restrictions dependent.

This event was a learning opportunity so CPD credits are available for EIGCA members:

  • The speakers can claim 2 professional credits
  • Attendees (including the speakers) can claim 5 education credits 2 networking credits
  • Any member who reads Rainer Preissmann’s presentation on Germany’s planning process and legislation can claim 1 education credit (the presentation is filed in the CPD section of EIGCA’s education site)

(Attendees will be sent the relevant codes to claim their credits by the team at EIGCA)
