Looking Forward to Paris

With only a week to go the final preparations have all been made and we are looking forward to welcoming EIGCA Members, Partners and selected Guests to our Annual Meeting. This year’s gathering, which is to be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Paris-Boulogne, is set to be one of the best attended meetings that the EIGCA has held.

In a change to the usual proceedings this years Annual Meeting will start on a Monday and finish on a Wednesday. This change was necessary to ensure we were able access to the some of the best golf courses in Paris.

As usual the week is set to commence with the 36-hole Presidents Cup which this year will be held at the wonderful Golf de Saint Germain, designed by Harry Colt, and the Albatros Course at Le Golf National which famously hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Following the conclusion of the golf the EIGCA will once again host the Partners Dinner on the Tuesday evening where Members get a chance to welcome many of our industry colleagues.

The EIGCA’s annual AGM will be held on Wednesday morning so will mean an early start for our Fellow, Members, Associate Members, Candidates for Membership and new Students that want to have a say on the future direction of the EIGCA.

Following the AGM the Partner Spotlight event will once again provide a another great opportunity for Partners and Members to network and learn more about the interesting work and developments that they are working on. This event was first introduced three years ago and has proved extremely popular with both Partners and Members.

The Conference will take place on Wednesday afternoon and will feature a number of informative talks. Steve Issac from the R&A, Vanessa Bell of the Golf Foundation and Robert Berthet will be discussing initiatives to further grow the game, Emanuel Frauenlob from Trackman and Harry Cloke from Shorehill Analytics will be introducing their technological aides and there will be thought provoking presentations by Kevin Holinaty of SouthWest Greens Construction and Will Carr from Ransomes Jacobsen.

The Annual Meeting will conclude in spectacular style with the customary Presidents Dinner which this year will take place on a cruise boat on the river Seine and should provide a fitting end to a wonderful 3 days in the French capital.
