Paul O'Brien is a partner with (re)GOLF Design and he is based in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. An Honours Arts Degree graduate in Geography & Economics, a qualified Geodetic Surveyor and Cartographer, Paul has been in the golf course architecture business since 1997.
Paul's inventory of projects is wide & varied and includes projects as small as 1-2 hole extensions right through to full 9 and 18 hole courses. Most notable would be the 9 hole extension to Fota Island Golf Resort (venue of Irish Open 2001/02/14), Cork and Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club, Wexford, Ireland.
Paul regularly travels to play courses throughout Ireland, Scotland, England & Wales to study the classic courses of the "Golden Age" of Golf Course Architecture. It is from these study trips that Paul draws his inspiration and he endeavours to incorporate elements of this era's wealth of design nuances into his own creations.
Core to his role as a Project Architect, is to deliver a final product which is a realisation of his clients' expectations, budget and schedule.
