Giulia Ferroni is a Golf Course Architect and Director of LGD, Leeds Golf Design Architects and Consultants.
Giulia has a MSc in Architecture from the University of Ferrara (Italy) and she gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Golf Course Architecture through the European Institute of Golf Course Architects, which she passed with Distinction in 2018.
She has a wide variety of project experience working on large-scale renovation projects as well as new golf course developments. Giulia established LGD after many years of experience at Hawtree Ltd, a three-generation company leader in golf course architecture for more than a century. Her expertise was built working internationally on new projects and on renovation of some of the finest British golf courses and Open championship courses.
Leeds Golf Design is a young and enthusiastic company specialising in golf course architecture; based in Leeds, UK, and Ferrara, Italy. Its services range from project planning to the design of new golf courses and the renovation of existing courses.
Giulia is very committed to delivering sustainable solutions that always fit the context and respect the existing environment and landscape. Author of the "Acupuncture Approach" that involves focusing on highly specific actions or specific details to maximise the effect and the resources available for the renovation.
Since July 2019 Giulia is part of GEO Foundation network as an official GEO independent verifier.
The company made of sustainability its flag, and in line with nowadays global call is launching the new programme "Zero Impact Golf Courses" to minimise the carbon footprint of proposed golfing development or redevelopment.
LGD is also a supporter of the R&A Women in Charter initiative; assessing, designing and improving golf courses to promote women's play and ultimately women's participation.
