Gary Johnston is an architect at European Golf Design, the golf course design company of the European Tour and IMG.
Since joining European Golf Design in 2002 Gary has had the opportunity to work on projects throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. He was directly responsible for the alterations at the Wynyard Club which were done ahead of the Seve Trophy in 2005 before going on to work on a number of collaborative projects with tour players Colin Montgomerie and Ian Woosnam. The Montgomerie Course at Papillon Golf Club in Turkey opened for play in 2008 and soon after the first of two courses he designed in Bulgaria with Ian Woosnam, Lighthouse Golf Resort was completed. In 2009 his second Bulgarian project Pirin Golf and Country Club also opened for play
Gary is currently working on the renovation of Prince's Golf Club at Sandwich in England as well as new projects in Morocco, Portugal and Asia.
