Hemstock Design Ltd is heading towards 30 years of golf course design and consultancy work, and has built a reputation for dedication, innovation, flair and integrity. David Hemstock is an experienced and qualified Designer, Agronomist and Soil & Water Engineer, to date having worked on over 200 golf projects in the UK and internationally; new constructions, upgrades, and consultancy on key technical aspects involved in golf course presentation and management.
David has also been involved in golf and sports work at the highest level; golf legacy design work for the Athens Olympics, concept design work on Royal Ascot GC and others (during 11 years as a Consultant with the Sports Turf Research Insitute), consultancy for the Commonwealth Games, Cricket World Cup, London Olympics, FIFA-level projects, with several projects combining golf, sports and landscape master-planning. In all cases, the company philosophy and preference is to see the project through into successful operation, by providing support on turf management operational and maintenance training aspects.
The company works on all types of golf project; from the international championship-level courses (notably the award-winning and Asian Tour venue, Amby Valley GC, India), to traditional course renovation projects such as for Knaresborough GC in the UK, renovation & extension of The Mehta Golf Club in Uganda, and on the 'new golf' short course layouts, for example the new academy courses at CVR Links and Palace Greens in southern India, and a family course and current foot-golf layout in the UK.
