Golf Salardu par 3 course was established in the small town of Salardu (Val d'Aran) in the Spanish Pyrenees, being the area very well known for its skiing facilities at the Baqueira Beret domain, surrounded by peaks over 3.000 meters in height.
The 6 hectares site occupied the lower part of the Garona valley (main river that flows into the Atlantic coast of western France) at 1.275 meters of elevation.
The owners of a famous ski academy wanted to develop a Club House- Hotel and a small par 3 course, with a driving range, in order to allow residents, skiers and tourists to enjoy the game of golf.
Our team was awarded with the design and construction supervision of the new 9 hole par 3 course around the Garona river.
The course started building in 2000 and was opened to play in 2001.
Very different holes with varying lengths, elevations and green shapes made this course a very well appreciated course especially between the population of the Val dAran area.
A record flood in the year 2013 at the Garona river basin invaded three fairways, and could have been easily restored, but as the property changed hands in 2014, the course has been closed ever since.
